His mercy endures at Holy Name of Mary College School.
According to second-year novice S Maria Louise Edwards, “It is a great gift to not only understand that God is loving and forgiving, but to experience it as well. It is a great grace to know that our all-powerful Father is rich and powerful in mercy.”
So much did God want us to know this, she explained, that He sent not just five, but six priests from the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate, to pour out His mercy on students and staff in an intimate way in the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
Sister Maria said, “The cleansing and freedom were so evident on the faces of the students leaving the chapel, radiant and beautiful.” She added, “During the time when we were celebrating Reconciliation, the Felician Sisters were praying for us. One sister was in chapel praying the Stations of the Cross, interceding for all those going to Reconciliation.”
She said, “God’s mercy was also present as we prayed the Stations of the Cross, so beautifully presented in powerful tableaus by Ms. De Angelis’ Grade 11 students, accompanied by Ms. DiMauro and the Liturgical Choir.”
Sister Louise said she is grateful to all who made this Holy Week special at HNMCS. She said her wish for the HNMCS Community is that they “carry the truth of God’s mercy with them as they celebrate the rest of Holy Week at their parishes with their families. Continue to carry His mercy with you as you ponder the Cross and God’s forgiveness. As the Passion is read and the Cross venerated, remember His mercy. That is His gift to us this Holy Week at HNMCS and always. Give thanks to the Lord for He is good. His mercy endures forever. Thank you, Jesus. Amen.”
